Copper Stillwell

4″ (10.16 cm) in diameter; Provides a calm, smooth water surface for accurate measurement of water depth; pan water enters Still Well through openings in bottom of Stillwell (water seeks its own level).

3 screws located on each edge of the triangular base are turned to level the still well as well as keep it slightly elevated above the bottom of the pan to allow water through the openings in the stillwell’s base.

A hook-gauge micrometer is used to measure still water in the well’s opening.
